1974 LOS ANGELES DODGERS TEAM-SIGNED BASEBALL ***NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONS***
An Official National League baseball (Charles S. Feeney, President) signed by the National League Champion 1974 Los Angeles Dodgers, including
Don Sutton (HOF)
,
Walt Alston (HOF, manager)
,
Steve Garvey (1974 NL MVP)
, Tommy John, Ron Cey, Bill Russell, Jim Wynn, Steve Yeager, Jim Brewer, Al Downing, Geoff Zahn, Lee Lacy, Ken McMullen, Von Joshua, and Red Adams (coach). The ball has a very light, clear, even protective coating (no cracking) that has toned slightly (as usual, the ball appears less toned in person than on eBay), and light spots in the pictures are glare from the photographic lights and not damage. In the seller's opinion, the "Dave Lopes," "Bill Buckner," and "Joe Ferguson" signatures are clubhouse (i.e., not authentic), and therefore their authentcity is not guaranteed.
The 1974 Dodgers won 102 games in the regular season, beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 3-1 in the National League Championship Series (see one of my other current auctions for a magnificent 1974 Pirates team ball), and then lost the 1974 World Series to the Oakland Athletics. Team balls from this championship team are partcuarly rare, and those that exist often have fewer than 20 signatures. This is an opportunity to pick up a respectable example at a reasonable cost.
Authenticity guaranteed
: if, within 45 days after the end of the auction, the buyer submits the ball to JSA or PSA and it fails to pass authentication, the buyer may return the ball (in original condition) to the seller for a full refund of the purchase price.
As noted above, however, in the seller's opinion the "Lopes," "Buckner," and "Ferguson" signatures are clubhouse, and therefore this guarantee does not apply to them.
